When you do a good deed for someone, it creates a natural desire to return the favor. You can provide helpful tips on your blog or participate in forums offering advice and helping clients share their ideas on Twitter, Facebook, Myspace or even YouTube. Go the extra mile in showing your clients that they are important to you and number one in your book! Putting that advertising/promo gift in their box when they order is a great way to get their attention. Some ideas of gifts to put in their box is cookies, candies, pens, a free shirt, travel mug, coupon for website or graphic design services or a handy usb drive. Make everything you do something "extra special" and clients will take notice. Not only will they come back for more, they'll tell their friends.

Be sure to tell your neighbors, friends, colleges and clients to give you referrals and give them an incentive for doing so. Don't be afraid to tell friends and colleagues about your services. You never know when they may know or talk to your next big client.

Does your marketing materials (brochures, flyers, business cards, etc.) show off your company in a way that others will remember your company. How are you "screaming" about your business?

Even though your company may not see instant gratification, don't give up because it's usually the persistent sales rep or consistent advertising that sees the most results over time. Before you know it your income will be doubled.

Don't just launch your new web site; let people know its coming. Drop hints, show them screen shots, and make them look forward to the big day.

How popular is your website? Don't be afraid to advertise your popularity. Place download counters, comment counts and subscriber numbers in prominent places. Just make sure the stats are high enough to warrant such "hand waving".
